Domestic abuse and violence against women are big issues in the UK, creating long-lasting impacts on survivors’ physical, psychological and emotional health.

Facts and statistics have been taken from Refuge, NCDV, ONS 2023, and the Femicide Census 2020

1 in 4 women experienced domestic abuse in their lifetime
1 in 7 men experience domestic abuse in their lifetime
1 in 5 children have lived with an adult perpetrating abuse
On average a woman is killed every 3 days by a man, in the UK
The police receive a domestic abuse related phone call every 30 seconds
Around 2.1 million people aged 16+ experience domestic abuse every year
